The Cactus

I never knew why the humans never gave me a single drop of water. Can't they see that I'm all dried up? Look at my spikes! They are all brown! Nobody cares...
I hardly saw my human anymore, ever since she placed me here, away from her. There's not much people here, except for my neighbour. Talk about wierd companion. But recently some humans have been giving me lots of attention! They give me water and treat me real nice!I listened to their chatting when they gathered around, washing their cups and making drinks. Sometimes I envy that they can make drinks themselves, but I'm happy just having them around. They talked about "blogging" about me, what's that? Hmm.. I hope they would come visit me soon. I miss them already!

I wish, I dream, I want

Have you ever been in a place in your life where you don't feel like doing what you are doing and wished that you can do something totally different? I have some ideas recently...

*disclaimer* before you read further and laugh your head off or vomit I must 1st clarify that these are just my fantasy thoughts. So the chances of me actually quitting my day job are unlikely.

A Stay Home Tai-Tai (glamorized housewife)
high tea and mahjong, what's not to like?

A Model
Capture the best of me before time steps in. Hubby may not like this

A Singapore Girl (Air Stewardess)
I was once very close to joining. But as much as I love to travel, I get home sick :P

My Own Boss
Some things that I like, bakery, beauty parlor, cafe, book store, restaurant, so many

My Own Online Boss
Even better cuz tat means that I can work from home

Kindergarden Teacher
But I'm afraid that I would lose my temper and strangle the kids

Fitness Instructor Aerobics, yoga, etc.
Help others get fit, you stay fit yourself. Not bad!

Ok that's all that I can think of for now.

Better Late Then Never

Well I've actually decided to give up on making New Year resolutions permanently. Forever.

I've always made them but I never follow through, so they all turn out to be empty promises. But I'll think I should give it one more try. If I still don't get things done, I give up making them forever. But in order to make sure they REALLY happen. I shall make an easier list this year.

1. Get Married (hahaha..)
2. Get my bloody driving lesson
3. Furnish my home with:

1. curtains for my balcony window
2. bench and water feature for my little garden
3. wall unit for the living room
4. cabinet for living area
5. floor lights and change some of ceiling lights to warm light
6. Complete my study room with sofa, TV, DVD player, etc.

That's all. Sounds simple enough. Let's see how it goes ;)

I wonder...?

People push and shove to get off the bus and/or train like they are really in a panicky hurry. You let them go first obviously, since it's such an emergency. And yet like magic, they move along in a leisurely stroll immediately after alighting. Like taking a walk in the park.

Why?

A Great Saturday..

What a nice saturday I had!

Had a good sleep until 9am until I was awoken by dad at the door, asking if I wanted to join them (mom and him) for breakfast. It was a beautiful morning as we walked to the bus stop. The sunny weather was a nice change from the stormy skies we've been experiencing for weeks. The freshly fried you tiao (fried sticks of dough, like savoury donuts) was fantastic as I dunked them into my coffee.

In the late afternoon I met up with darling and we headed to view a potential wedding dinner location at Novotel Clarke Quay. It was surprisingly satisfactory! I'll be meeting up with the manager this friday evening to iron out some details. (I'll keep you updated yah?)

Feeling good already with the ballroom viewing, we decided to just hang around the shopping centre below the hotel. Lucky lucky~! I found this push-cart store that sells these fantastic accessories. The store owner proudly proclaims that he made most of the items himself and I happily walked away with 2 pairs of delicately designed hand made earrings! Take a look! :)

I loved these. I wore it to work today.

I'll wear these tomorrow :)

I loved the designs on the beads!

We were on a roll! We strolled along to look at some furniture shops, hoping to find a nice coffe table and side table. But instead, we found this absolutely fantastic cabinet. It's nice and white and just what we needed for our home and I just fell in love with it. But it also cost S$1200 so we'll think about it first yah? No rash moves please...

We headed to the newly revamped Clarke Quay for dinner and settled for Hot Stones Restaurant. After dinner we enjoyed a nice haagen-dazs ice cream Al Fresco. The whole place was nicely sheltered from the light drizzle and yet we can still enjoy the slight breeze. There was fairy lights hanging from the trees, tourists were strolling around, the jazz band just started playing in the middle of a giant fountain nearby and we were indulging in sweet desserts and even sweeter company.

We ended the day with our favourite comedy on tv (My Name Is Earl) and snuggled up in our warm bed till we drifted off into a peaceful slumber. Hey, it may not be happening, there was no partying with cool and beautiful people, but I wouldn't trade that saturday for the world.
