A Great Saturday..

What a nice saturday I had!

Had a good sleep until 9am until I was awoken by dad at the door, asking if I wanted to join them (mom and him) for breakfast. It was a beautiful morning as we walked to the bus stop. The sunny weather was a nice change from the stormy skies we've been experiencing for weeks. The freshly fried you tiao (fried sticks of dough, like savoury donuts) was fantastic as I dunked them into my coffee.

In the late afternoon I met up with darling and we headed to view a potential wedding dinner location at Novotel Clarke Quay. It was surprisingly satisfactory! I'll be meeting up with the manager this friday evening to iron out some details. (I'll keep you updated yah?)

Feeling good already with the ballroom viewing, we decided to just hang around the shopping centre below the hotel. Lucky lucky~! I found this push-cart store that sells these fantastic accessories. The store owner proudly proclaims that he made most of the items himself and I happily walked away with 2 pairs of delicately designed hand made earrings! Take a look! :)

I loved these. I wore it to work today.

I'll wear these tomorrow :)

I loved the designs on the beads!

We were on a roll! We strolled along to look at some furniture shops, hoping to find a nice coffe table and side table. But instead, we found this absolutely fantastic cabinet. It's nice and white and just what we needed for our home and I just fell in love with it. But it also cost S$1200 so we'll think about it first yah? No rash moves please...

We headed to the newly revamped Clarke Quay for dinner and settled for Hot Stones Restaurant. After dinner we enjoyed a nice haagen-dazs ice cream Al Fresco. The whole place was nicely sheltered from the light drizzle and yet we can still enjoy the slight breeze. There was fairy lights hanging from the trees, tourists were strolling around, the jazz band just started playing in the middle of a giant fountain nearby and we were indulging in sweet desserts and even sweeter company.

We ended the day with our favourite comedy on tv (My Name Is Earl) and snuggled up in our warm bed till we drifted off into a peaceful slumber. Hey, it may not be happening, there was no partying with cool and beautiful people, but I wouldn't trade that saturday for the world.
