Bon Voyage Singapore

At long last, after more than 8 months after the wedding, I am on my way to my honeymoon. For the past few weeks, my blog has been silent as I have been working overtime researching for my trip. We are going free & easy, so naturally some homework has to be done.

Impressively I managed to do up my research for a 13 day trip within 1 week. Ok, I admit that I have been doing most of the research work in office, but no choice! My brain is only active during the day. Besides, I did most of the research before and after office hours anyway. (Just in case my boss is reading this ~ haha)I'm sure they'll understand! Right? Hehe...

I know I know, why so rush you say? I should start planning earlier. For those who don't know, this trip is actually a 2nd attempt. During the 1st time, I was so hyped up and started preparing very early, only to be faced with a huge blow when the trip couldn't make it. I was super crushed! So this time I actually prepared myself mentally and emotionally for the trip to fail. I did not allow myself to celebrate nor believe that I'm realy going until I receive ALL the documents for the trip! Which is like 1 week before flying off. haha...

Ok Ok, I know by now you must be wondering, "so where are you going!?" Ladies and gentlemen, Miss CoCo is flying off to a destination of her dreams, with a man of her dreams~

I am going to Paris.

WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!!

Even as I am typing this in the airport free internet, I can't help but give a silent Whoop! Well, actually, my first destination is London, where I will spend 3 days before taking the Eurostar train to romantic Paris. There I'll spend another 3 glorious days before taking another train ride to beautiful Rome. It's another 3 days at Rome before taking a flight back home.

I'm so happy that just can't believe it. This afternoon I asked Cobby, "what do you do when your dreams come true?" which Cobby smiled and replied, "make new ones!" Yes it's true that going to Paris and Rome is one of my dreams in life, and I'm so thankful that I'm sharing this experience with my husband. My pessimistic nature have been constantly surfaced these few days, and I keep thinking that all this is too good to be true.

Bizzare as it sounds, I actually keep having imaginations that all this is going to be taken away from me any moment now. Maybe one of us would have a terrible accident, maybe the plane would be cancelled, & worse scenarios that I don't want to mention here. I have no idea why I would think of such horrible stuff! So I have to constantly remind myself that everything would be alright. I don't want my thoughts to spoil the trip!

Anyway, to add on to my already jittery mood, friends and family are all wishing me luck and asking me to make sure that "two persons going, three persons coming back. WINK WINK".

-_-"

Yes, I know that this is a Honeymoon trip, I want to have the third person coming back too! But I'm feeling a little pressured now. What if we come back just with two persons instead of three? Well naturally we'll have to try again back here in Singapore but... AIYAH! I think I'm just making myself nervous. haha...

Ok anyway, let me recap... No matter what happens, right now, I am super happy, I am going to Europe, I am super blessed. So I will see you in 2 weeks time~ Bye Singapore!

Driving Test

Left office early today and quickly headed to the driving centre. I was in such a hurry that I only realised something later. I had earlier laminated my provisional driving license (PDL) to prevent it from tearing, but the instructors told me to paste a paper behind as the tester would need to initial on it. I have totally forgotten to do that!

So I quickly hopped off at Jurong East Interchange and bought a pair of scissors and glue. While waiting for the shutter bus to arrive, I started cutting some paper from my note book and gluing it onto my PDL.

Haha... looks weird but no choice lah! Reached the school pretty quickly today, didn’t have to wait for long. I printed my lesson slip and was asked to sit in a special corner with a few others and waited for our warm up driving session.

I hate the waiting part. If I’m pre-occupied it’s not so bad. But when you ask me to just sit there and wait, my nerves really drives me crazy. SO NERVOUS! I swear that if someone was staring at my boobs, they would probably see it pulsating as my heart was pumping like mad in my chest.

Finally got to go for my warm-up session, it went pretty well and I felt so much more relaxed after that. After the warm up we went into another room and waited awhile before the traffic police testers balloted for our test routes and allocate testers.

Oh I got route 4, which was pretty simple and straight forward. Lucky lucky!

Hey, the few TP testers that briefed us were pretty friendly and nice! Maybe they weren’t as bad as everybody say they were! So when my allocated tester called my name, I enthusiastically jumped up and followed him out of the room, expecting him to be as nice as the one that just briefed us.

Boy was I wrong.

Mr Tan C.S. was as cold and aloof as the ice cubes inside my freezer. Worse, when we went to the parking lot, I CAN’T FIND THE CAR! So embarrassing! The stupid car was not labelled, but I was so nervous that I didn’t think of looking at the parking lot number in my hand. Instead, I walked up and down the stretch of cars stupidly and the stupid tester found the car before me and got in before me.

Sigh~ overall; I thought the test went very well! Well, except for this STUPID STUPID car inside the circuit that stopped in front of me and blocked the freaking way for so long that even the tester pressed the horn a few times impatiently!

Anyway, circuit no problems, all ok. I was very conscious of everything that my instructors taught me over the months, so today I was extra careful, extra Kiasu, Kiasee, so, I was slower than usual too. Personally, I thought the drive was super smooth, so as I was approaching the school gates, I was pretty excited! “Yeah it’s ending soon” I thought. So as I was waiting for the red light, at the corner of my eye I saw the tester nodding.

Wait, is he? DOZING OFF???? Oh no, is this a good sign or bad sign? Did I drive too slowly? OR maybe my driving was so smooth and comfortable that even a driving tester can doze off? He woke up (I think) when I moved off and we headed back to the centre.

When I pulled up to the parking area he was in such a hurry to get off that he opened the door before I come to a complete stop! Eh wait lah! He made me so Kan-cheong as we were supposed to follow the tester to a room for evaluation. So I quickly pulled handbrakes, got out of the car so fast that I hit my knee!

Ouch! Wait for me...........!

I ran after him like some mad woman to the evaluation room where other testers were de-briefing their student and explaining why they deducted points. So I waited for him to say something, but again, didn’t happen. Instead, he just pulled up the form the started ticking away silently.

Delay in moving off & insufficient acceleration - 4 points

Speed too slow & change lane abruptly - 6 points

Improper turning - 2 points

Incorrect braking - 2 points

Sweat... Oh no, maybe I didn't do as well as I imagined! Just when I thought that all hope was lost, the tester ticked the most important box of all.

PASSED

My eyes went O_O I passed???

Before I had the chance to react, he passes me the paper, got up and left. I quickly blabbered “Thank you sir! Thank you very much sir!” like some stupid bimbo as he got up and left. Yah he may have attitude problem, but at long as he gives me a pass I wouldn’t care even if he decides to smack me with the test paper! Whahaha! Whoo HOo!

After the initial silent Whoo Hoo! There was alot of admin work to be done, watch video, change my address for the refunds, and apply for licence, its queue after queue after queue!

By the time I’m I left the driving centre for the last time, it was already 4.30pm, quite a few people has already heard the good news, and I was starving! I gave myself a treat and bought my favourite tuna puff from the petrol station.

I strolled to the MRT station, savouring my tuna puff as well as my passing of the driving test. Thinking back on the lessons that I took, taking in the news that I have finally done it! I’m so super happy and proud as the gentle afternoon sun shine on me. Guess this is another milestone in my life which I have just gone through. I ended the day with a good dinner and ice cream with Cobby.

He had a great week too, took home the silver for his IPPT. So we were both relieved and happy as we toast to a good week. Tomorrow I want to practice driving in real life. So look out Singapore, here I come!

Driving Test Tomorrow...

Exactly 24 weeks ago on 27 October 2007, I attended my basic theory lesson at BBDC. Tomorrow I will be going for my driving practical test. Received alot of well wishes today at work, many seems to believe that I can pass on the first go.

Thanks but no pressure please...

I'm feeling ok now, just feeling abit surreal. Can't believe that I've made it this far! Seems so long ago that I've decided to take my driving licence, so it all seems unreal that I'm finally gonna do it tomorrow!

Like most exam experiences I've had in my life, I usually I don't feel anxiety till the very last minute. So I'm hoping that I won't feel too jittery tomorrow.

My strategy is to treat it like just another driving lesson, drive very carefully, very safe but yet confident.

Well, I don't expect to pass, in this way I won't feel too bad if I really did fail!

Haha... Anyway, we'll see how it goes tomorrow! Good Luck to ME~!

A Short Day

Took morning off to go for driving lesson yesterday, but since I booked the first lesson of the day (8.00AM) I had to wake up at the usual timing.

Lesson was ok except for the stupid irritating instructor that keep using irrelevant metaphors for simple questions! I simply asked him if the tester would let me know if points are deducted during the test. Then he went on and on about how life is unpredictable, one day you and a girl may be very happy together, then the next day she ask for divorce. The continued with another story about how one of his colleagues lost a 4 year old son, while another had a son who was sick for 17 years before passing away, blah blah blah blah...

-_-"

I felt like pulling my hair out! Enough already! So I've decided not to ask anymore questions till the end of the lesson.

After lesson I picked up some ingredients before heading back home. Had some inspiration to make some muffins, so this was my result...

Click here to read more about it...

So I made my muffins, took a shower and headed to office. Hmm seems like 12 muffins not enough! Next time I'll make 2 batches. Taking the morning off also made time fly in light speed at work! Before I knew it, it's 6pm! Wah so shiok, maybe can consider working part time permanently! haha...

Something New!

We went to Holland Village for dinner yesterday and we remembered that Parisilk was there! Great!

Oh in case you have no idea what Parisilk is, allow me to digress abit. It is an electronic good store with humble origins but now has grown to much bigger proportions. It started out as a little a family business run by an Indian family in 1952, outside Nee Soon Army Camp, their main customers being British Army officers.

The original store is still there by the way, but now there are several more stores opened island-wide. It’s even listed in GeBiz! So anyway, a lot of stuff in my home is brought from there. Basically they buy in bulk, and sell to consumers in a cheaper price than what is sold in retail outlets.

If you are thinking about 50% cheaper, all I can say is “wait long long”. It’s just slightly cheaper lah, but their service is great, the price is right, and the stuff is authentic. This is not Sim Lim, where dodgy staff quote you cheaper price but you worry and wonder if they left anything out in the package. The counters may be run by friendly aunties in traditional Indian garb, but those aunties know their stuff. Ask them about brands and models, they have the latest information at their fingertips! Cool!

So back to the story, after dinner we walked over to the store and found what we wanted. The latest canon digital camera, Canon IXUS 80IS. Initially I wanted to get pink, but… Don’t feel like it. Somehow always getting pink stuff seems a little boring! I asked what other colours does it come in, so he said, “Navy Blue, Classic Silver, Candy Pink, Caramel, CHOCOLATE” and my ears suddenly perked up.

Did he said chocolate? Hey hey! Let’s take a look!

True to description, the camera is a beautiful, sexy, creamy, chocolate colour! Looks so good I could take a bite. Hahaha, sorry hor, I’m a woman and I shop with my eyes, not my brains. So while the staff blabbered on about the features about the camera, I’ve already zoned out. It’s chocolate! It’s beautiful! I want it!

So now I’m, a proud owner of a brand new camera, which I’ve named Choco!

Like Christmas..

The whole package - comes with free 4GB SD card

Hi Choco!

That's not me hor...

Oh in case you are interested in the specs, click here.

My Totoro

I bought this Totoro handphone holder in a clearance shop in Hong Kong. Initially, I bought it for a functional purpose only actually, but after awhile, I grew really fond of it!

The design is very nice, simple and squarish, the 'fur' is smooth, soft and nice to touch and best of all, I love how soft and cushion-ny it feels!

Sometimes I would take a break from work and my totoro would be like staring at me with it's big round eyes. It was as if it was pleading me to give it a nice big hug! So I will pick it up and give it a nice squeeeeze!

Squeeeeeeeeeeze!!!!! I love it!

I wished that my totoro was bigger actually. Exactly the same, just bigger, like a regular cushion size. Anybody know where can I get one?

Where's Streetdirectory.com?

I was updating my blog in the weekend when I needed to check the location of an eatery. So as usual I opened another tab in my web browser and tried to get into Streetdirectory.com to check. After waiting like forever, the page said that the address does not exist! What??

I thought it was some glitch in the system. Suddenly I feel so handicapped. Now how am I to know what is the name of the building? I didn’t realize that I was so reliant on the website for directional or location information till now. Streetdirectory.com was always my first choice to look for addresses, how to get there, etc.

This morning I heard the news that apparently the website has been shut down temporarily due to some issues with infringement of copyright of the LTA maps they were using. So now, there are reports that the website would be back this week.

Yeah…!

Sigh, so silly loh, I mean if LTA have such wonderful maps, and streetdirectory.com have such a wonderful search function to link up addresses with the maps, why don’t they just work together? Ok maybe things aren’t that simple but hey, from a consumer point of view, I think that Streetdirectory.com is the best.

I miss it and I want it back!

In case you wanna read the news:
Virtual Map shuts down street directory site after losing suit

Streetdirectory.com will stay alive

Smoke gets in our eyes

I woke up at 5.30am on Sunday morning. Why on earth did I pry my eye open on such un-godly hours in the morning? We have to move Cobby’s grandparent’s ashes. You see, His grandpa’s ashes were in Mandai crematorium, his grandma’s at Aljunied crematorium, and the rest of the ancestor’s were at San Qing Kong Temple at Bedok. So the whole idea was to move both of their urns to San Qing Kong Temple so that they can rest inpeace with the rest of the family.

Seeing that everybody have to get up so early in the morning, I offered to make some sandwiches for everybody. Kay-poh right? Anyway got up and made some ham and cheese sandwich sandwiches, I asked Cobby to help me fry up some bacon while I prepare the ham and cheese. But he must be still half asleep cuz he burnt my bacons! Oh no! So in the end, I have fewer sandwiches to bring. Hmph! Next time don’t ask him to do liao. Angry…

So we were out of the house by 6am, picked up his mom and sis that their place by 6.30am and reached his aunt’s place at 6.50am. The van they rented picked us all up by 7am and drove us to Mandai. You know hor, from our home to mandai only need 15-20mins leh… So if we didn’t have to drive his mom, we can actually sleep for another 2 hours as they say have to reach Mandai before 8am. Oh well, Cobby is a filial son. :)

So we were there at about 7.40am but get this, the rites only start at 9.00AM! FAINT LOR!!! They were so scared that the traffic would delay people’s timing that they made us come so early! So we waited. Two hours can crawl by so slowly when you have no where to sit! We stood, we squatted, we leaned, we gossiped, I even visited my late grandparents at the next block, came back waited some more. Zzzz...

Finally at was 9am! The Taoist priest was so young! Maybe around mid 30s? Interesting choice of career. If you meet him on the streets, you would never have guessed his occupation. So he did his chanting, praying, etc. After he finished his chanting, he would yell “Huat ah!” the everybody have to shout together. “Huat ah!” This would bless everybody who yelled with good fortune. So funny right? Haha…

Then the uncle would have to Seng Puay – which is to get the approval to move the ashes from the grandpa by asking him and then throwing two coins. If both faces landed on different sides it’s a YES, if both sides same = NO. I couldn’t see, but I guess it’s a yes cause the priest ask us to all have to turn around while the other guy knock out the cover to get to the urn.

When the priest saw the urn he frowned because it was wrapped in a red cloth. The urn was wrapped in a red cloth when transported to Mandai, but the cloth was supposed to be removed from the urn before it was entombed. Very bad feng shui! The previous priest must be sleeping on the job! So he wrapped it up in a new red cloth, uncle have to toss some coins into the empty compartment and we moved off to get grandma.

The urn was carried my Cobby’s uncle and his family in another van, so we happily hopped onto our van and feast on sandwiches, fruits and huat kuay. Everybody fought to eat the top of the huat kuey because it symbolizes hitting the 1st prize.

头 (head - top of the kuey) = 头奖 (1st prize – toto, 4D, etc.)

Haha, Cobby's mom and aunties they are such a funny bunch. So we headed to Mount Vernon crematorium and repeat everything, this time minus the waiting but have to do everything in the searing hot sun! Phew… so glad to get back into the air-conditioned van!

On the way to San Qing Kong Temple Cobby & I snoozed all the way while the aunties chatted away. Tired sia… Wah piang. The temple’s ventilation was so bad! The room where they place the urns was enclosed! So you can imagine how smoky the place was as hundreds of people burn incense inside the room loh! All our eyes were red and watery, our throats scratchy and our nose were running. People would easily have thought that we were an emotional bunch, but actually we were just being smoked alive.

As the priest did his thing again, I wished that I was Adam Sandler in the movie Click. So that I can fast forward the whole process and get out of there!!!! 救命啊!!! After we burnt some offerings outside we’re done! I felt like screaming! I felt so crappy! I’m tired, starving, sweaty, covered in soot and ashes and I smell like incense! ARGH!

I wished that we can go straight home but we still have to go lunch together, so I was feeling even more crappy. But no complains as we saw the food as I was so hungry! We quickly went home after lunch and I took a cold shower to cool down. Then we lazed at home for the rest of the day, watch some tv and take short naps. Shiok~

I think it’s the sun and all the heat because we were so tired that we went to bed at 10.30PM! It’s great because we have a really good rest and this morning we felt super energized and refreshed!

Hope I don’t have to smell anymore incense in the next few months because I seriously had enough, thank you very much.

*Just in case you're wondering: I didn't take any photos cause I feel that it was inappropriate, besides, I don't wanna accidentally capture "things" in my pictures! O_O"

Eat, Eat, Eat!

I missed two weeks of cleaning due to my bad back and well, I was just plain lazy. So I just cannot wait to clean up the house on Saturday morning! I took a peek at my fishies before I started work. Check out our babies! The fishes had a sudden baby boom and Cobby and I were so happy. They are increadibly cute!

We also got some very pretty guppies! I love their colourful tails...

Ok, quickly got to work and cleaned up the house real good. Cobby was awoken by the vacumn cleaner. Well, he'll have to wake up then! Haha...

While I was cleaning, got Cobby to ta-pao some prata back for breakfast. So after cleaning, I took a nice shower and got out just in time to enjoy a yummy breakfast. So shiok! Now the chores are all done so we can enjoy our weekend in peace.

After awhile we set out to pick up our travel documents at Chan Brothers tour agency. It was such a beautiful sunny day, so I suggested to open the windows and breadth in some fresh warm air. Ahh... the sun feels so good on my arms.

Well, we didn't get the documents. I though our guy wanted us to go down and get them, apparently, he was actually saying that the documents are ready and was asking us if we were ready for the documents. If we were ready then he will go get the documents and he'll call us when the documents have arrived.

-_- duh right...

Just call me when you get the documents loh... Why did he need to ask us for permission to prepare the documents leh? Sigh... But anyway, we weren't really dishearten, because we have an uterior motive. Haha...

We walked pass the Hong Lim Food Centre yesterday on the way to dinner and a colleague mentioned that the Chicken Curry Noodles there is "...The Best Chicken Curry Noodle Ever!" Wah... bold claim. I've walked pass the stall before, I've seen the long queue, but THE BEST? This I gotta try. So we walked over to the hawker centre, which is just next to Chan Brothers (heehee) and joined the queue for our lunch.

The queue was so long! But when we finally got it I thought it was really worth it.

Well, it's more like Curry Noodles with chicken as they actually boil the chicken seperately. The chicken is super tender, the gravy is very tasty but not heavy! So we gobbled up the whole bowl in a matter of minutes. YUM! Please do go down and give it a try sometime. #01-127, Heng Kee Curry Chicken Mee, Hong Lim Food Centre.

Cobby spotted an old fashion pastry shop opposite the food centre, so we hopped over after we finished our noodles. Poh Guan Cake House is the type of old shop that specialise in making traditional chinese pastries and kuehs and makes everything fresh. Cobby and I love those chinese bean pastries (豆沙饼)and it's so hard to find shops that make really good ones anymore!! So naturally we bought a whole box when we found this rare gem. And then I saw it. Something that I was deprived of last night after dinner. Packed in little packages, screaming at me to buy them...

ONDE ONDE!!!!

I tell you. IT. WAS. SO. GOOD.

Real onde onde is filled with good quality gula melaka. Some people mix the gual melaka with coconut. I don't get it. What for?! Anyway, Poh Guan's Onde Onde was so heavenly. Tip on eating Onde Onde: Pop the whole thing into your mouth and feel the gula melaka squirt out inside your mouth when your teeth sink into the soft yummy kueh. GOD!!! The whole box was gone before the car left the carpark. Hahaha... Impossible to stop. I will be back for more. So happy to find such a great food centre! Yeah! Whoo Hoo!

Ahem.. excuse me. So anyway, we got home and I decided to give my seal a much needed bath. My poor seal that has always been hanging on my handphone was a little, erm, dirty. So into the bath he go!

Yeah! Time for tea! Finally got to try the pastry we bought earlier and just as expected, it was great. Flaky but not dry, the bean paste is just nice, not too sweet. Sigh, really good leh. Really, believe me. I'm very picky with my pastry. It's good.

Wah after the pastry we're so full! So dinner was a little late in the night. I keep thinking about Korean food the whole week! So in order not to make me go insane, we headed to Wisma Food Republic for my favourite Bi-bim-bab.

Wanted to buy a Canon Ixus digital camera after dinner, but shockingly, cannot find! On a side note - Best Denki at Takashimaya? Cannot make it. Enough said. So after walking around awhile, finally ended a very gastronomical day. Phew, tomorrow have to wake up VERY early. So better sleep early. ZZzzz...

A night with the past and the present

A few weeks ago, when our boss asked us to plan an alumni dinner for our department, let’s just say we weren’t exactly jumping up and down in joy. We were already neck deep in work, and we still have to plan a dinner party?

My first reaction was, erm, there’s a reason why people leave in the first place you know!! Why would they want to come back and have dinner!! But hey, if there’s one thing I’ve learnt about working live, it would be NOT to question your boss’s ideas. So like they say, if you can’t beat them, join them. I made up my mind to make it work. So after many heated discussions, plans, constant change of plans, many phone calls later, the night of dinner finally came.

The turn-out wasn’t 100%, but I’m glad that the pantry gang made it. UJ, Dragonfly, Char and even Issac came along. Two other ex-staff came too, I don’t know them, but the more senior staff seemed so happy seeing them, they must be the pantry gang of their time. They seemed like very nice ladies! I think if they were still around the department must be very chatty and lively.

Anyway, almost everybody was on-time last evening. We gathered outside the Warung Lele Indonesian restaurant at China Square Central. It was so nice seeing everybody together again!

While waiting for some late comers, we played some ice-breaker games to introduce ourselves, but we were so hungry that when the food arrived, all was forgotten as we devoured all the delicious dishes served before us.

The food was delicious! It was an ala carte buffet, so there were a great variety of dishes. But I really love their beef rendang, the bbq sotong, the satay, the prawns, and the chicken. It’s all good!!!

While eating, there was also alot of catching up between friends. Can tell that they were really happy meeting up again after so long. For some of them, our company was actually their first job! So it was quite memorable for them.

So there was alot activities happening. Eating, talking, laughing, taking pictures, passing food around and of course, ordering more food, hahaha... Some of them finished eating first, so they went ahead with the desserts first.

Marl and LY were sharing a chendol but the spoons were so small that they just asked for some straws and started slurping up all the goodness instead! Haha... So romantic right? I also want! I was really looking forward to some chendol and onde onde, but the lady boss told us that they were all sold out!

SO DISSAPPOINTING!!!!

So I just watched the others ate some crappy jackfruit dessert. I hate jackfruit! But other than the lack of desserts, it’s obvious that everybody had a great time that night.

After everybody left we stayed back to take some pictures. Char wanted to take with Issac but he managed to run away in time! Haha...

Took a few photos before we all go our seperate ways again...

Who would have thought that the outing that started with so much protest would have ended so well? Haha... I guess that’s life. Don’t make a judgement too early; you may miss out a great opportunity to have a good time.

Chronicles of Pain

I honestly can't remember when did it started but I guess it should be slightly before Chinese New Year? The aching pain on my lower back, as I recalled, is more like a little nagging pain, the type you feel the day after you work out. It comes and goes. So I thought that I must have overstrained myself while doing spring cleaning.

But it didn't go away~!

So the past few months have been a pain in the back, not neck. Finally on the Easter Sunday, I was so annoyed of it that I finally decided to go see the doctor. So as I was changing my shorts, I lift up my right leg, bent forward, and DWANG...!!!

I felt a sharp pain hit my left buttocks and through my back!

I.Think.I.Pulled.Something.

I shouted for Cobby to come and he helped me to the bed. Then we slowly inched our way down to the clinic downstairs only to find that my usual clinic is closed. No choice, I'll just have to go to the one next door. It opens at 6.00pm. It's 5.30pm.

I cannot wait here for half an hour - I need to lie down. So we inched our way home, waited in pain till about 6.30pm and inched our way down again. I was so happy to see the clinic was empty! That is, until the nurse gave me a number 8 tag. Even better, the doctor wouldn't be here for another 20-30minutes! I mean, why the hell would you open the bloody clinic at 6.00pm if the stupid doctor would only come in an hour later??!!

So I grumpily and unwillingly sat on the disgusting sofas with questionable stains on them and waited as my back kills me. Finally when I get to see the doctor, he made me do some movements to locate the source. Bend sideways? No problem. Finally he asked me to bend forward. I bent a few inches and I couldn't go further. I can't go anymore, it hurts, I told the bloody doctor. Then he mumbled something like, "really? Try to bend forward somemore?" and he freaking pushed my back lower!!!!!

It's like a lighting bolt just hit my back, and a jolt of pain shot through my whole body!!!! I shouted out in pain and stumbled forward. Tears welled up in my eyes involuntarily as I turned and yelled at him in disbelieve, "VERY PAIN LEH!!!" What the hell! Are you trying to kill me? Told you that it's painful alreday and you still push further.

I just stood there, trying to relax my muscles while he turned back and pretended that nothing happened, scribbling on his stupid paper peacefully. I wanted to grab the chair and smash it on his head, but the pain was still vibrating in my back. Best of all, he even turned and looked at me, asking me to sit down, like everything is peachy.

Hello! It's so painful I don't even want to move a single muscle OK? But he keep insisting that I sit down. He must be feeling freaking guilty and worrying that Im gonna f***king sue his ASS! Fine, maybe I'll feel better sitting down. I gingerly sat on the edge of the chair, every movement sends shots of pain into my back. My eyes were so full of tears Im practically crying.

The stupid doctor said to give me some muscle relaxants but advised that I go for a scan if the pain persist. So I left the clinic in a worse condition than when I went in. I was walking so slow, I was practically inching. When I finally reached home, I felt faint with pain and exhaustion. Cobby helped me slowly into bed and I broke down.

I cried and cried till my eyes hurt, I yelled till my throat was dry. I'm in pain, in shock. I hated the doctor, I'm worried with what's wrong with me, what's going to happen, I'm sad that this is all happening and my family is no where near to comfort me. In other words, I want my mommy.

I know it's a very childish thought but I guess when drastic events happen in your life, your thoughts automatically turn to someone who will bring you comfort, unconditional love. For me it's my mother or sister. So it's really tearing me apart when no one was around.

Cobby was a real gem. He comforted me and soothed me, fluffed my pillow, wiped my tears and even made me a delicious dinner that night. So we ate cold soba with tempura vegetables and grilled fish for dinner while watching Jurassic Park III. What a horrible Sunday, but at least the day did not end terribly, all thanks to Cobby.

Nowadays I still feel a little pain when my sitting posture is bad, or when I wear my heels. I know, I know, I shouldn't wear those heels till Im all better. But I just can't resist. My poor heels are so lonely in the cupboard! So I try to wear them less often. But it's not the heels that was killing me.

Last Sunday when I was moving a pot of plant when a black spider crawled up my arms! EEEEEEIIIKKKKSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shrieked and jumped up and down, flinging my arms to be rid of the creepy crawling thing off me! The moment it was gone I super regretted it. I was once again immobilised with pain.....! Luckily still got some good stuff from the doctor, so I popped a few meds and lied down on the sofa for the rest of the day. Again. Sigh... Like that how to recover....

I've decided to drop out of ABT classes. Much to the disdain of my ABT kakis... haha. But I really don't want to do anything that would delay my receovery. So I hope and pray that nothing drastic would happen as I slowly recover from this stupid pain.
