Heard that the Johnson & Johnson baby wipes was having a discount at BHG at Bishan, so mother in law, baby Jolie and I headed out this afternoon to buy some. At the BHG, I wanted to look for a new pair of shoes for Jolie as her cute bunny shoes were getting a little tight. So after shopping around we bought these!
Well they were'nt as cute as the bunny shoes but they look pretty anyway!
After shopping I suggested we have a snack at the food court as MIL didn't eat her lunch. (She sometimes don't eat, that's why she's so slim) I just wanted to eat some light dessert but she bought a plate of char kuey teow and a plate of fried carrot cake without telling me! In the end we couldn't finish the food.
After eating we passed by Popular bookstore, so I bought Jolie a picture book. By then Jolie had fallen asleep peacefully in my MIL's arms, so we headed home. I was SO JEALOUS! I wanted to take over carrying her but I realised that the stuff we bought were pretty heavy! It would be mean to ask your mother-in-law to carry such heavy stuff right... so... bo bian loh...
She was in a happy mood when we got home, so I took a picture of our Princess in her new shoes.
So pretty!
P.S. Our 4 month old Miss Jolie's current shoe size is size 2, which is 12.5cm for 6-12months! We bought size 3 for her, which is 13.5cm for 12-18months so that the shoes can last longer. -_-" Poor Jolie, she's gonna have trouble finding pretty heels that fit her feet when she grows up. Same fate as her Mummy and Daddy!

Michael Jackson Is Dead
On Friday morning, Cobby sent me a sms:
I was absolutely shocked! THE KING OF POP IS DEAD?!? What happened??
I find it so strange... Now that he's dead, the TV channels and people are all sympathetic, talking about how wonderful he was, all the good he's done, all his achievements, etc. Yet, not long ago, people were calling him names like 'Wacko Jackco', making fun of him and criticising him. What a bunch of hypocrites. Only when he's gone did people realise how great he was! If only he knew how much people loved him. I guess that's human behavior.
Yes, he may look weird, but I never believed that he did all those terrible things that he was accused of. Besides, we grew up listening to his songs, so yeah, I was pretty sad that he's gone. My brother and I loved dancing and singing to hits like Smooth Criminal and Bad, I remember sis and her secondary school friends learning a Michael Jackson dance for a school performance. We loved all his fantastic music videos such as "Black or White" and "Smooth Criminal". Even I was in a group singing of "Heal the world" for a school performance. It was crappy but memorable.. Haha...
Mom said that he should have died earlier.. (She never really liked him) In a weird way, maybe that's true! I mean, when you become really big, you should die earlier in order to promote yourself to Legend status. Sounds mean, but being dead means that you would live forever in the minds of people as the perfect beautiful being that could do no wrong. Think Marilyn Monroe and Elvis.
Anyway, just thinking out loud. Rest in peace Michael Jackson, King of Pop!

Dinner at Trattoria Lafiandra al Museo
When we drive past the Singapore Arts Museum, I would notice that there's a little Italian restaurant at the side. So on Thursday, since Cobby took leave, I suggested that we have our dinner there. Turns out to be another nice place to have dinner! I don't know how the place survive cause throughout the whole dinner, there was only us and another 2 tables occupied! Haha, maybe they survive on weekends and lunch hours. But that suits me just fine as I want to avoid hanging around crowds with all the H1N1 scare...
Anyway, it was quite windy that evening so we opted to seat outdoors. We were seated right next to a little 'garden' so I took some pictures while we waited for our food.
My little flasher... likes to pull up her top.
She likes to make noises like "poh" and "Pah" now, which explains her mouth...
Of course it wasn't as good as the ones we had in Italy but it was good nonetheless.
This starter is free, nice... so fancy...
The parma ham with rock melon is a little expensive ($22.00) but it was very good and the portion was very generous!
This is my order, Penne Primavera ($19.50). Penne with eggplant, zucchini and mushrooms. I didn't finish as the portion was so big... but, yums...
Cobby ordered this Cannelloni ($19.50). Its like lasagna but with some vegetable inside. Also very good.
Next time we'll go a little earlier, visit the arts museum before going to the restaurant for dinner. I would like to try their pizza next time!

Jolie's 1st Bus Ride
Mom came over on Wednesday morning, I wanted to bring baby to hang out at my Mom's place in the afternoon, so we packed up and headed out. Usually we can easily get a cab within 5 mins, but it was raining that morning and every cab was occupied! So after 30mins of waiting, we gave up and decided to take a bus instead!
At the bus stop, Jolie and I were sitting next to a little boy, about 11 years old? Jolie was totally smitten by him! She kept smiling and smiling at the boy! The boy was amused, naturally, so he smiled back too. But when he looked away, Jolie made noises like "Eh! Eh!" and "Ooh.. Ooh.." to get his attention. When he did turn back at her, she continued smiling at him! Haha... super cute!
So Jolie's 1st bus ride is bus number 962, a SMRT bus. I think she enjoyed the bus ride. It was a little chilly as it was raining, but thankfully I brought her jacket and long pants along.
Next time will bring her to ride on the MRT and next, airplane!
Having fun at Po Po's place...

Origami Fish
After many many weeks, Ive finally finished my little project. I was inspired by how Jolie much loved the ang pao gold fish that I made for my parents, so I made a mobile but used colourful origami papers instead. It wasn't difficult to do, but it required both my hands and time, so it took quite awhile for me to finish. This is the finished product and Jolie absolutely loved it now.
I hung it underneath the ceiling fan, so the fishes would actually 'swim' around in the wind.
Goes to show that you don't really need expensive toys to make a baby happy.

Dining At Borders
We've always hung out at Borders to read magazines and books, but we've never dined at the Bistro inside it. So one day I suggested that we give it a try and I must say, that was a GREAT IDEA! The food is fabulous and we are SO HAPPY that we've found a new place to dine!
We went back again for dinner with Jolie on a Sunday and we were pleased to find the place very peaceful and quiet on Sunday evenings! Yeah~ Nowadays we prefer to dine in peaceful restaurants when we bring Jolie out - less stressful and we don't have to worry about disturbing other diners when Jolie kick up a fuss. :)
Anyway, Border's Bistro - must try. Next time I'll take some pictures of the food.

Happy 4th Month
Jolie is 4 months old on Friday! We went to the clinic for her immunization in the morning. Her usual Dr Keoy was on urgent leave, so it gave us the opportunity to switch doctors! Hohoho... So from now on we'll go to Dr Ang instead. I think I prefer him. At least he looks more awake and speaks more clearly.
The original plan was for me to go for my pap smear at Dr Kee's while Cobby settle Jolie's Doctor visit. But the very smart Cobby left my handbag in the car, so I can't go to the Doctor's without my purse. So we had to wait till Jolie was settled before going over for my check up. Jolie was SO BRAVE! She didn't even make any noise when the nurse gave her the injection! So proud of her.
So I went for my very 1st pap smear, and I must say, it wasn't a very comfortable experience. -_- Dr Kee also found a small lump on the right side of my uterus, but he said that it's so small that it wasn't worth it to operate and remove it. So he reassured me that it's fine and we can finally go home!
Jolie can turn nowadays... (will upload a video once I capture a good one)
Taking a nap on Daddy's shoulder...
According to Chinese customs, there is a practice to introduce solid food to babies at 4 months. But in reality, babies should only start eating around 6 months, so you don't actually let her eat the food, just letting her lips touch food such as a chicken drumstick, or fish. So later in the evening, we boiled a drumstick and let Jolie "eat" it.
Yeah! Congratulations my baby! Welcome to the wonderful world of meat! Happy 4th Month!
