On the Streets of Taipei

We’ve just finished watching the most spectacular fireworks at Taipei 101 as mentioned in my previous entry

When it was over most people got up and quickly left. We stayed behind and took our first photos of 2008!

When we finally decide to leave, we were faced with a HUGE problem. With thousands and thousands of people trying to leave at the same time, a huge human traffic jam was caused and we were totally stuck!!!!!! (as in shoulder to shoulder, face to back, in contact with everybody kind of stuck)

We decided that we HAVE to move into the streets, where at least the crowd is able to move. With much difficulty we squeezed out and started moving.

Thankfully, a few minutes later we were strolling easily on the streets of Taipei together with the thousands of people. They have sealed off the whole stretch of road so the streets were filled with people walking, running, dancing, singing. It’s so fun and unreal. I’m walking on the streets of Taipei on New Year’s Day!

We’ve decided to give the MRT a miss, since it was so jammed up. So we walked and walked and walked all the way back to the hotel. It was fun but a little tired when we were about to reach.

We walked about more than 4 MRT stations..?

We were totally exhausted when we reached our hotel, but the night was so worth it. As we collapsed onto the bed I wondered what would the rest of the days bring… K.O. ZZZzzzzzzz………..
